John D. Fowler is a founding partner of JDF. He specializes in complex business, intellectual property, media, entertainment, privacy, reputation and brand protection litigation in federal and state courts and arbitrations.  John has handled numerous high profile matters including profit participation disputes, business and regulatory disputes, idea theft claims, and cases involving individuals, businesses, artists, production companies, and major corporate entities.

John is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.  While at Loyola, he served as the General Managing Editor of The Los Angeles Public Interest Law Journal, and as a member of Loyola Law School’s Scott Moot Court Honors Board (winning the Scott Moot Court competition, competing in the National Moot Court Competition, and serving as an Appellate Advocacy teaching assistant). Following Loyola John practiced entertainment and media litigation with Johnson & Johnson LLP, and Carlsmith Ball LLP.

Outside of the law, John is an avid surfer and musician.
